Lauren Portscheller

Hired By: Valassis
Title: Promotion Coordinator
School: University of Michigan Dearborn

Why Did You Choose This Job? I love working with clients and I'm a detail oriented person. This position embraces both of those aspects.

What Are Your Duties and Responsibilities? I coordinate the production and distribution of coupon print advertising from program commitment to insertion into the market. This includes graphic and version processing, approvals and inputting the promotion details into the system for press. Making sure the program is executed flawlessly is top priority.

What's the Best Thing That Has Happened to You Since Starting This Job? I have been able to work on some high profile accounts which have given me the opportunity to streamline and build relationships with my clients. From a non-work perspective, I was able to choreograph a gold medal winning office chair dance for our team for the "Valassis Olympics." It was just for fun, of course, but it was a definite highlight of some of the fun we have here.

What's the Best Thing About Working for Valassis? The people and the perks. Everyone is respectful and friendly and the company always knows that when your associates are working hard, they deserve to be rewarded. Valassis has continued to be a place where the little things count!

Why Did You Choose to Work in Michigan? I stayed in Michigan primarily to stay close to my family. I also believe that although Michigan has been through some hard times, it's these experiences that will give Michigan a competitive advantage in the future.
